MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT It is indeed a great honour and I feel immensely privileged to assume the appointment of President of the International Academy of Pathology - Indian Division. International Academy of Pathology (IAP) is a highly professional body with more than 15000 members from all over the world and its Indian Division having more than 400 members is engaged in conducting many scientific events throughout the year specifically to impart knowledge in surgical pathology, autopsy, various histotechniques and laboratory procedures. As a senior member and counselor, I have been associated with the Indian Division of the IAP for more than a decade and am proud that the Division is performing its task commendably at par with such other Divisions across the world. I am fully aware of the onerous responsibilities bestowed on me and I shall try my best with utmost sincerity and purpose to improve upon the solid base laid down by my predecessors and enhance the professional excellence of the Division. IAP-ID is already conducting its annual scientific meeting, mid year teaching session and a Continuing Medical Education programme. Our dynamic Secretary / Treasurer Dr. Francisco Couto has been energetically propagating the aims and objectives of the IAP and has been successful in inducting many members during the last few years. My personal drive will be to leave the IAP-ID richer both professionally and financially. I wish all the members of the IAP-ID good health and prosperity in the New Year 2005.
Lt. Gen. J. R. Bhardwaj
